Payment Options

Working with your virtual assistant is easier than you think.

When you contact Melanie, she will listen to your needs, describe how her services work and decide if working together will help you meet your goals.

Next, she’ll e-mail you a New Client Information Worksheet for you to complete.  This worksheet asks for basic information, like contact and company information, and provides a space to describe the services you need.

From the information gleaned in this worksheet, Melanie will create a simple Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and send that to you via e-mail for your perusal and signature.  The contract is sent via EchoSign or similar online signature service, which allows for an electronic signature and distributes executed copies to both parties.

Once the ICA is in place, work can begin.  Information can be sent to Melanie via e-mail, fax, snail mail or courier service.  Completed projects are delivered via e-mail and any hard-copy material is then returned to you via snail mail.

The hourly option is perfect if you only need our services one time.

Blocks of Time

By purchasing a block of time, you book our services by making a one-time payment.  The time reserved can be used whenever you like.  Based on the amount of time reserved, you will receive a discount off the hourly rate.  For instance, if you book a 5-hour block of time, you will receive a 5% discount off our hourly rate; for an 8-hour block of time, you will receive an 8% discount off the hourly rate, and so on.  Blocks of time can be reserved up to 15 hours (in one-hour increments) and are nonrefundable.

Retainer clients receive the same percentage discounts as those who purchase blocks of time.  However, retainer services are ongoing and billed monthly on the last business day of each month.  Retainer clients can book our services up to 30 hours a month (in one-hour increments) and, therefore, receive up to a 30% discount off the hourly rate.  Retainer fees are nonrefundable and do not roll over from month to month.


Services are billed in 6-minute increments (minimum 6-minutes).  Time is rounded off to the nearest increment.

  • Hourly clients are billed weekly, usually on Saturday.  Invoices are due upon receipt.
  • Clients who reserve blocks of time are billed immediately.  Payment is due before work begins.
  • Retainer clients are billed on the last business day of the month for the next month (billed end of October for work done in November).  Payment is due before work begins.
